Each year, FWO, together with other players in the science communication field, organises a number of training sessions, workshops, and more to support our researchers in further developing their knowledge of science communication.

Would you like to write about your research for a broad audience, but are not sure where to start? In this training track, in collaboration with Eos Wetenschap, we guide you through the process from idea to publication. This training is offered within the SciComm Academy. Each year, there are two FWO editions in which FWO researchers can participate free of charge.

Thanks to our partnership with the SciComm Academy, we can offer FWO researchers an additional workshop from their programme each year.

Each year, FWO organises a Science Communication Masterclass. With this, we aim to give researchers a crash course that immerses them in the world of science communication. In 2026, this was a storytelling workshop on 7 January.

Are you a scientist and would you like to share your expertise effectively with the media? Good news! In collaboration with FWO, the Expert Database organises an online MeetUp twice a year. This session is designed for scientists and offers practical tips on how to connect your knowledge with current topics and make it visible in the media.

FWO supports the Belgian science communication network BE SciComm. Its goal is to bring together current and future science communicators from Belgium, ranging from researchers, journalists and freelancers to policymakers.
